Volunteers in Covid-19
Stobhill Link is about making connections in the local neighbourhood in order to empower people, so they can improve their lives and that of the population living in Stobhill and surrounding communities. We already provide an employment resources service for individuals seeking employment, to help to get access to training and assist with referrals to the local food bank. In 2019 we introduced our Uniform Bank and the Community Pantry to support local people.
Our projects are designed to offer social inclusion and to address the health and wellbeing of people who are disabled as well as those who are more able. We provide practical advice and support on disability issues. We also offer;
Free NHS Hearing Aid Batteries
Information & Signposting
Stobhill Link is also the local contact for RePaint, for more information click here. We are aiming to engage the local community to develop, plan and run groups for mutual support and interests. We already run two allotment projects in Morpeth and Bedlington, which encourages collaboration with others to learn how to grow their own food. We opened the Stobhill Community Garden in October 2019 to provide some garden activities to individuals irrespective of any disabilities.
The overall aim is to encourage participation to improve the quality of life in the Stobhill community.
Our Mission statement is as follows:
“To develop and implement creative community-based strategies to enhance economic opportunity, build strong neighbourhoods, and ensure a dynamic framework for quality growth and development of people”
